We find it surprising that many companies do not have
a strategic plan. Any company, large or small, will
benefit from taking time out to think about the
business and it's future direction.
We help by offering a structured process which looks at
your business today and reviews alternative scenarios
which may be possible in the medium term, usually five
years.
We believe you may find our approach interesting
since it combines creative and disciplined thought
processes.
Every business is different, so we start by
gaining an understanding of your history and current
situation. We also need to know about any
constraints, like funding, which may impact a growth
strategy. At the same time we analyse the position of
your company in relation to competitors in the sector and
prepare a ranking based on measurables available in the
public domain. Our web-based world means there is much
available.
Next, we meet with the executive team to understand your
aspirations for the business - where would you like to be in
five years? There may be a reality check at this point,
but assuming we have consensus we will prepare a number of
growth strategies which could meet the stated goals.
This is really creative part of the process which we lead but
is normally undertaken jointly with executive team.
From the many ideas generated we shortlist two or three
which we feel best meet the criteria, with supporting
data. These are presented to the team together with our
preferred choice.
When consensus is reached on one stategy we prepare a
detailed first year business plan and an outline for each of
the remaining five years.
All of the data is compiled into a strategic plan for your
company. However, this should be viewed as a framework
which can be adjusted to compensate for unforeseen
circumstances in our fast-changing world.
We suggest six-monthly review periods, undertaken
internally, or with our help if required.
